Collaborative Learning Scheme

The PMA Collaborative Learning scheme encourages mediators to share skills and knowledge through short informal study sessions. Members must register with the PMA to form a scheme. Groups will be divided into learning zones based on a specific area/topic of interest.

How does it work?

Each learning zone is supervised by a team leader who chairs the sessions; each zone is limited to 6-8 or more members. Zone members meet every 6 weeks and the agenda is entirely up to members, you must be a member of the PMA to be able to join a collaborative learning zone.

-Team leader sends a list of zone members to PMA; we register members on our database and assist you in setting up the group.

-Leaning zone members meet every 6 weeks to undertake one of the following:

Presenting mediation cases for analysis and discussion

Each member of the learning zone can take turns to share experiences on cases and seek feedback

Interactive dialogue on practice techniques within mediation fields of interest

Inviting reflections on academic content through book reviews or course and event feedback

The Peer to Peer programme is a new system for PMA members to pair or be paired with other mediators for shadowing and co-mediating opportunities. PMA members can put themselves forward to 'peer or be 'peer'ed' with another mediator for learning opportunities like shadowing or for opportunities to co-mediate. The PMA will contact the respective parties to facilitate this when a position opens. Please email admin@professionalmediator.org if you would like to register to Peer or be Peer'ed with another mediator.
